This guide takes you through the fundamental steps on how to map interfaces based on your CORE structure. This is done through the System Integration Monitor (SIMO).
SIMO is a square grid based on the systems created from your CORE structure. The CORE systems are represented in three places: Top row, Left most column, and the grid's diagonal. This grid allows you to enumerate all the possible interfaces that your systems have within your CORE structure. This is done in a clockwise output-to-input flow.
Creating an interface
Each cell in the grid (except the systems mentioned above) represents a possible interface between your systems.
To create an interface, click the cell, then use the sidebar to create the new interface.
To edit an interface, click a cell with an existing interface, then edit the sidebar interface.
To remove an interface, click the cell, and delete the interface from the sidebar list.
Special case interfaces. There are two special cases of interfaces that operate on the whole cell and precludes any other types of interfaces in the cell. Add these using the - and ?
buttons.
Multi-select cells. It's possible to select multiple cells at once by holding down the shift key.
While in this mode, it's possible to assign special case interfaces to multiple cells at once by pressing the - or ?
key. NB! Currently, this only works on English keyboard layouts.
You can learn more in-depth detail of SIMO, interfaces, etc., in the RDS 81346 handbook.
