Setup

Setup is where you can establish the foundation for the design of your systems structure. You have the possibility to modify and build a company-specific setup based on a custom syntax and tailored classification tables.

Syntax Editor

A Syntax

Basically, a syntax governs how your design can be structured, simple as that. The syntax secures a uniform structure in a more detailed approach and governs how the system breakdown can be designed. See it as a set of rules you create, which are applied in the CORE design process. This can, i.e., restrict you to build system breakdowns through organizational-specific orientations.

The Syntax Editor

We have created the Syntax Editor because we understand that some companies need to modify the syntax to company-specific needs. The Creating a syntax article will show you the basic setup on how to build a syntax, but remember, you have the ability to modify it the way you want!

Classification Table Editor

CORE

RDS 81346 and its parts contain classification tables made up of either a one, two or three-letter code. The letter codes in a classification table are used as a part of the designation, which gives you instant recognition of the system based on three different abstraction levels.

  • ONE letter code (Functional systems) for designation of high-level systems, i.e., high abstraction level.

  • TWO letter code (Technical systems) for designation of mid-level systems, i.e., mid abstraction level.

  • THREE letter code (Component systems) for designation of component systems, i.e., low abstraction level.

We understand that some organizations need to tailor classification tables to fit their requirements to make a proper systems breakdown.

With the Classification Table Editor, we have created the ability to enrich classification tables with organizational terms.

SIMO

By default, a generic SIMO table is set up, but you have the option to create customized organizational SIMO relations/interfaces between systems. If you need more organizational specification, then you can add them with examples.

This makes it the online module to handle RDS 81346 for organizational-specific structuring and thereby create readable structures and relations for everyone to understand in your organization.

If you haven't already, you can see all the ISO/IEC RDS 81346 classification tables in the RDS 81346 App.
